Midsummer Holiday on Furtherholm

[ Deutsche Version
]
The Midsummer Festival 2025 runs from June 11 at 4 PM until July 1 at 9:00 AM.
The Minas Tirith Midsummer quests and rewards can be found → here.
On the idyllic Shield Islet of Zír Aktar (in Westron: Furtherholm), some former pirates have retired and now offer tourists relaxing summer days. You, of course, are expected to make yourself useful – what else!
You can travel to the island via festival horses at Stable-masters in the starter areas and in Minas Tirith, as during the Yule Festival. Alternatively, Ikhajât, the pirates’ envoy, can transport you directly to the location. You will find her at the Prancing Pony in Bree, in the Festival Garden of Duíllond, at the Party Tree, in the tavern of Thorin's Hall, and in Minas Tirith (Midsummer) near the Stable-master.
On the island, a ship is available to bring you back to Minas Tirith, Bree, or Umbar Baharbêl.
- REWARDS
- The festival rewards can be found here on the main page.
Intro
A Midsummer Getaway (Ikhajât)
You will find Ikhajât
- at the Prancing Pony in Bree,
- in the festival garden in Duíllont,
- in the tavern of Thorin's Hall,
- at the Party Tree near Hobbiton,
- and in Minas Tirith at the Stable-master in the 1st Tier.
This quest transports you directly to the new festival island to Captain Khâtaphos, who sends you to further quest givers.
Before you start questing on the islands, accept the wrapper quests every day, either from Faeleth in Minas Tirith (right at the Stable-masters) or from Khâtaphos, to whom Ikhajât sends you:
- The Grandeur of Midsummer
- Joy in Festivities
- Celebrating Midsummer
The quests on Furtherholm count towards your daily 10 quests. This makes the dailies considerably more convenient.
Reward: 1 Midsummer Token

Inn Quests
Gathering Guests (Captain Khâtaphos at the "Cracked Flagon" inn)
Captain Khâtaphos asks you to travel out into the world and drum up interest in a visit to Furtherholm. He provides you with a list of interesting locations. You can select one location per day.
The English title Captain was unfortunately translated as "Hauptmann" (a military rank). He is of course a sea captain!
At each location you will find three to four "potential visitors", one of whom you must invite to the island. Only one will be willing to come, the others will be annoyed by your advertising.
You may annoy a maximum of two visitors, otherwise the quest will fail!
It is NOT random which visitors will accept your offer. A few - unfortunately very few - potential visitors give you a hint about the right choice when you annoy them or guess correctly, e. g.
- Correct choice: “Yes, I could very much use a holiday from all this!"
- Wrong choice: “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m enjoying myself here.”
From this you can conclude that happy people don’t want to go on holiday and feel annoyed by your advertising, whereas those who are stressed out will accept your offer. Pay attention to their behaviour when the quest ring disappears:
Happy: nods - crosses arms - smoothes out their clothing at the sides - (Hobbits and Dwarves:) laugh: This person is thoroughly content and does not want to travel.
Stressed-out: shakes their head - shrugs - hangs their head and sighs - scratches their head: This person is downcast and would love a holiday. This is your guy!
Speak to a person directly after they show negative behaviour. They reset from time to time and can switch mood, meaning also that there is no single one correct person at a given location.
These are the locations where you can advertise:
- Bree (Bree-land), at the Boar Fountain
- Celondim (Ered Luin), on the terrace across from the Stable-master
- Party Tree (The Shire), just southwest of the tree
- The 21st Hall (Moria), in the banking area
- Edoras (Rohan, Kingstead), in the northeast of the market square
- Forsaken Inn (The Lone-lands), northwest of Frideric
- Hall of Vérnozal (Gundabad), in the canteen to the southeast
- Herne (Cardolan), at the village well north of the Stable-master
- Minas Tirith (Midsummer), on the Citadel above the broad staircase
- Nobottle (Yondershire), in front of the "Fox and Fiddle"
- Trestlebridge (The North Downs), at the southern city gate
- Sûri-kylä (Forochel), in the west in front of the chieftain's tent
- Galtrev (Dunland), southwestern hut on the central square
- Dale (Dale-lands), at the northern city gate
Select a new location every time to complete a deed!
Once you have successfully invited a guest, you still need to turn in the daily quest with the Captain.
Reward: 3 Midsummer Tokens for the daily quest, 5 Midsummer Tokens for the weekly quest (gather 7 guests)
This quest can be played once daily.
Deed: Guests Gathered (completion of all quests from Captain Khâtaphos); Reward: 3 Midsummer Tokens; Title "the Relentless"

Offering to Help (Merkhâma in front of the "Cracked Flagon" inn)
Since Merkhâma is busy, she asks you to keep an eye out for anyone in need of help on her behalf.
- Speak with the Thirsty Beachgoer.
The woman is sitting on the beach in front of the inn.
The Refreshing Beverage is on the counter inside the inn. - Speak with the Relaxed Holidayer.
The Holidayer is sitting on a bench in the southern section of the harbour.
The Captivating Book can be found in one of the eastern guest rooms in the "Cracked Flagon". - Speak with the Unsettled Sightseer.
He is nervously gazing out to sea from the southern beach.
The cushion can be found in front of the eastern entrance of the "Cracked Flagon". - Speak with the Hopeful Suitor.
The Hopeful Suitor is sitting on the next stretch of beach.
The picnic basket is in front of the western entrance of the "Cracked Flagon".
Saghlem, the cook, is inside the inn. - Speak with the Queer Merrymaker.
He is dancing merrily a little further along the beach.
Just do what he says! (Yes, twice :-))
This quest is a bit time-consuming. If you want to complete your 10 daily quests as quickly as possible, skip it.
Reward: 3 Midsummer Tokens for each individual act of assistance and again for the entire quest

- on the west side of the harbour.
- in the southern cove.
- in the northern channel.
- at the west beach.
- at the southwest beach.

Fishing for Advice (Merkhâma in front of the "Cracked Flagon" inn)
For this quest to appear, you must have learned Fishing. A Hobby Master stands in the southwest corner of the harbour. Learn to fish and equip your fishing rod. Then open the Character panel (C), click on the "Hobby" tab and drag the Fishing icon onto your quickbar. This allows you to cast the line and – when there is a clear splashing sound in the water – reel it back in again. Tight lines!
Merkhâma asks you to check out various fishing spots on the island.
A Hobby Master, from whom you can learn fishing and purchase a fishing rod, stands in the southwest of the harbour.
The fishing spots are found here, appearing one after another (also see the map):
- east of the long bridge (fish from the bridge),
- east of the large platform in the southwest of the harbour,
- at the waterfall in the middle of the island,
- at a small sandbar east of the smaller island.
This quest is a bit time-consuming. If you just want to complete your 10 daily quests as quickly as possible, skip it.
Reward: 3 Midsummer Tokens
This quest can be played once daily.
When you are not on the quest, you can also catch fish from Dale on Furtherholm for the deed "Lake-master". A nice side effect! This even works on the Legendary Servers. Thanks to Daric from Mordor for this tip :)
Soggy Coin Pouches:
- While the quest is active, you can catch "Soggy Coin Pouches" containing 10 Midsummer Tokens at the quest fishing spots, including spots where you have already caught a fish. There is no limit, except for inventory space, and you can even store them in the bank.
I have never been able to fish a Coin Pouch outside of this quest, so I’m not sure the tooltip is correct about it starting it..
- Once you have caught 50 fish at a fishing spot, you can no longer take more fish from the line here, but you can catch and take one more at the next quest fishing spot, and then the next. (And more Soggy Coin Pouches, of course.)
- After catching the last fish for the quest, you can no longer take fish from the line, but you can still take Soggy Coin Pouches.
- Warning: If you turn in the quest without opening your Coin Pouches, they will disappear!
- Warning: If you try to destroy any Glittering Fish in your inventory, that will destroy all Glittering Fish in your inventory (you cannot destroy just some of them), and the Soggy Coin Pouches in your inventory will also be destroyed because they apparently also count as fish. You can, however, put the pouches in your bank for safekeeping while you destroy the fish.
On the other hand, there is no reason to destroy Glittering Fish before finishing the quest - just don't do it. - If you do destroy your Glittering Fish, the quest gets cancelled. You can accept it again after five minutes.
So, to be safe, always open the Coin Pouches immediately or store them in the bank if you’re approaching the Midsummer Token cap (250).
Thanks to Daric, Seawyn/Caralian, and Saphire from Mordor, who helped figuring all this out, in some cases at great personal (Soggy Coin Pouch) sacrifice!
We all hope for this iconic emote of the local anglers as a future reward:

Maghôrdo's Quests
Cat Conundrum (Maghôrdo)
Maghôrdo stands at the western end of the beachside promenade in front of the "Cracked Flagon".
There are many cats around the harbour. The sailors regard them as good luck charms, but the festival visitors find them a nuisance. Deal with them somehow!
You can either feed or shoo the cats. Make sure to do each at least once, as there is a deed for it. Some cats disappear briefly but reappear after about 20 seconds.
- Yes to cats
- Feed the Scruffy Cat.
- Feed the Slinky Cat.
- Feed the Skinny Cat.
- Feed the Smelly Cat.
- Feed the Sleepy Cat.
- Feed the Sassy Cat.
- No to cats
- Shoo the Scruffy Cat.
- Shoo the Slinky Cat.
- Shoo the Skinny Cat.
- Shoo the Smelly Cat.
- Shoo the Sleepy Cat.
- Shoo the Sassy Cat.
See the map for the spots.
These are actually two quests that both count towards the dailies! “Yes to Cats” / “No to Cats” self-complete upon approaching Maghôrdo. To turn in “Cat Conundrum”, you must move very close to Maghôrdo to make the quest-ring appear.
Reward: 2 Midsummer Tokens (the sub-quest has no extra reward)
Deed: Cat Confusion (completion of both sub-quests); Reward: 1 Midsummer Token, Title "Confused by Cats".
This quest can be played once daily.
[ Top ]
A Flock of Seagulls (Maghôrdo)
Unlike with cats, Maghôrdo has a clear stance on seagulls: they must go.
The gulls are scattered around the harbour. You can only shoo each gull once.
Shoo the seagulls (8/8), which is done by just approaching them.
Reward: 2 Midsummer Tokens
This quest can be played once daily.
[ Top ]
Eyesores Drifted Ashore (Maghôrdo)
The waters around the Shield Isles are not as safe as the tourists are led to believe. Let’s avoid them being alarmed by the debris from shipwrecks (-:
Clean up the flotsam on the southern beach (6/6) (see map).
Reward: 2 Midsummer Tokens
This quest can be played once daily.
[ Top ]
Tâlugar's Quest
Let’s Go Fly a Kite (Tâlugar)
Fly a kite ...
- on the southern beach (stand close to the water!)
- near the southern cove.
- at the west end of the harbour.
- atop the eastern bridge.
- on the sand in front of the inn.
See the map for the right spots.
If you don't have a kite yet (any kite will do), you can buy one from Tâlugar for 20 Midsummer Tokens or 30 Mithril Coins. Fly it and visit the marked spots. You may need to walk back and forth a little there before the success notification appears.
If kite flying is new to you: kites are technically cosmetic companions. You will find them, like other cosmetic companions, in your "Collections" (SHIFT+C) and can "activate" them from there. You can also drag and drop them to your action bars.
Reward: 2 Midsummer Tokens
This quest can be played once daily.

The Midsummer Race on the Shield Isles (Lêkhar)
There is now also a horse-race on Furtherholm! It starts east of the inn, where Lêkhar assigns you a steed.
You can choose between two tracks. First, you follow the road, then on the western side of the island the track branches:
- The first branch remains on the main road and moves southeast into the hills. It seems to be a shortcut, but there are some annoying roots on the path, and it’s also muddy.
- The second branch moves southwest towards the sea, where you ride along the beach and over some narrow racks. There are no movement penalties here.
Both branches meet again on the southern beach, where the race ends.
Don't worry about being dismounted if you take the beach branch; the water is shallow enough.
Reward: 1 Midsummer Token
This quest can be played once daily.
Deed: Win the race 10 times!
Reward: 4 Midsummer Tokens; Title “Sea Horse-master”; 500 Virtue XP
