The Inn League

The Inn League is an association of respectable Hobbits and like-minded companions who have dedicated themselves to the cultivation and enjoyment of fine beverages. Their headquarters are located in the back room of the Bird and Baby in Michel Delving, which you may enter once you reach the rank of "Friend". Prove your drinking stamina and earn the respect of your fellow members with the following honourable tasks!

The Inn League Initiation

Ailward Chubb stands at the Party Tree in Hobbiton.

WARNING: You will need about half an hour available without major interruptions for this quest, as all stops must be completed one after another. You cannot pause for long, as the clock is ticking!

Ailward challenges you to drink 6 pints of beer within the allotted time. But that’s only the beginning! You will then immediately be sent from inn to inn throughout the Shire, to complete a similar challenge at each of them.
The same four Shire ales will be served to you at each stop. However, the drinking time for each beverage changes from inn to inn.
You have plenty of time to down the beers, but you will need the remaining time for travel as well. So try to pick the "fast" beers.
You may ride or use stablemasters between the inns. The challenge can also be accomplished on foot - just don't dawdle.

TIP: Drunkenness triggers a fairly intense graphical effect. Colors fade and you start to see double. Note that the slightly more faded of two doubled images is always the real object.
(As aspiring drinking athletes, you surely wouldn't cheat by disabling the Post-processing Effects under Options - Graphics (Advanced) - Post-processing Effects! ... would you?)

The Inn League Challenge (Fine Spirits)

To prove your worth, you must sample a total of 23 local beverages.

This is a deed you unlock by completing he initiation rite. It appears in the Deed Log under (SHIFT+L: Class, Race, Epic / Race & Social) as soon as you have drunk the first beverage.
The drinks are not listed in the Deed Log. However, if you inspect an innkeeper's wares, a list will appear in the context menu, showing which ones you are still missing.

This route lets you stock up efficiently. If you have already purchased items at the Shire inns during the starting quest, you can of course skip those.

11 of the drinks on the list (highlighted in yellow) are also needed for the Deliveries quest series; see below. Buy a stack of each of these, as the deliveries are repeatable daily. Of the rest, you only need one per character to drink for the "Inn League Challenge" deed.

Inn League Deliveries

Get hold of the yellow stacks (see table above), then supply thirsty League members with their favourite drinks!

These quests are unlocked by passing the Inn League initiation rite. They are also a deed, which you can find in the Deed Log (SHIFT+L: Class, Race, Epic / Race and Social).

Strategy

You can accept these quests from the Inn League innkeepers at the festival grounds. Accepting a quest starts a one-hour timer, within which the drink must be delivered.
However, it’s much more convenient to accept the individual quests at the destination and hand them in right away. This way you have no time pressure and don’t have to clutter your quest log. Fill your bags with the drink stacks and then visit all the recipients at your leisure.
Below you will find a suggested route. Ultimately everyone will do it a little differently, depending on which stable-masters you know and what travel skills you have available.

The Ale Association has a parallel quest series that directs you to the same recipients and can be played at the same time. However, that series is more involved. You can’t buy drinks in advance there, and you can’t accept the quests at the destinations (and so need space in your quest-log). If you want to complete both series simultaneously, become a member of the Ale Association if you are not already, and continue reading there.

Route

Improved travel skills are of course handy for this. I would recommend the following as a minimum:

• Milestone in Bree
• and/or Return to Bree from the reputation vendors at the hunting lodge behind the auction house (maximum reputation + 100 Barrow-treasures). If you have quested through the Barrow-downs, you probably qualify already. This skill sits on a different cooldown from the milestone.
• Return to Lalia's Market (from Lalia at Lalia's Market at the Boar Fountain for 3 Mithril Coins). It’s a must-have anyway and also does not share a cooldown with milestone skills.

The following route is intended for characters who don’t have many travel skills. If you have some, all the better. If you can or want to use only one milestone port, I recommend the one highlighted in red, since it’s genuinely the middle of nowhere.
The higher-level areas are listed further down, so you can follow the route as far as your character level allows.

Each delivery is repeatable once daily. If you turned in the last quest just before reset, you may need to log out and back in once for the quest to become available again.

Special note: Of the titles "Member," "Senior Member," and "Notable", you can only display the highest one you have earned at any given time. Once you reach a higher rank, the lower ones disappear from your title list.

Covert Reparations

If you’re sorry for having completed the Ale Association quest "An Irritating Initiation" (by insulting four wayward dwarves who had joined the Inn League), you can now make amends.

Ailward Chubb stands at the Party Tree in Hobbiton. You only need to visit Ailward the first time; for subsequent runs you can go directly to the insulted dwarves.

Covert Reparations I - Sugary Sincerity

Laufar at the inn of Thorin's Hall tasks you with obtaining comforting sweets for the offended dwarf Óli. You will be sent from one dwarf to the next for this:

• Lóthinn is also at the inn at Thorin's Hall.
• Gamell stands by the forge in the crafting area.
• Heikki stands at the Riddle Vault on a platform on the eastern side of the great hall.
• Dwalin hopefully still sits on his throne.

Finally, bring the treats to Laufar.

Covert Reparations II - A Gesture in Jest

Karli in Noglond wants you to cheer up Kópur, whom you have offended. Karli gives you good tips for each step, so read carefully what he has to say!

Covert Reparations III - The Card

Make a lovely glittery card for the offended dwarf Grímar. You can find the ingredients in and around Gondamon:

• Gold-dust from an ore deposit
• Sap from a tree
• Scrap paper (in Gondamon)

Finally, craft your card at a workbench in Gondamon and then speak with Grímar's friend Ísólfur, who is also located there.

Covert Reparations IV - Who Doesn't Like Flowers?

The quest-giver Jafet and the offended dwarf Herluf are located in Needlehole in the Shire. Cheer Herluf up with some pretty flowers!

You can pick the flowers along the riverbank north of Needlehole. Then bring them back to Jafet.

Spring Festival Only

The Green Challenge

This quest is only available during the Spring Festival. You must be a member of the Inn League for the quest to be offered to you.

Tob Sandyman asks you to search the maze for a mysterious Inn League artefact.

The “artefact” is located in the centre of the maze - see the map. It’s a huge keg! You should sample a little sip ...
After drinking, you must find your way out of the maze before time runs out. This is not made easier by the fact that you are now drunk and can only stumble along. (Shameless cheaters disable the drunkenness effects in advance: Options - Graphics (Advanced) - Post-Processing Effects. But surely you are above such shameles cheating.)

This quest is repeatable daily.

I think this quest allows you to gain Inn-League reputation without losing Ale Association reputation (In case you’re working on both factions simultaneously). But I’m not 100% certain.

Harvest Festival Only

The Inn League's Excavation

This quest is only available during the Autumn Festival.

The Inn League has summarily declared Bilbo's cellar a quarry for their tastings! Cora Brownlock outside the Haunted Burrow asks you to steal retrieve a rare bottle of wine from the burrow.

Naturally you cannot in good conscience bring Cora a potentially spoiled wine, and so you sample the fine drop. What a kick! Anyone who gets too dizzy can disable the drunkenness effects under Options - Graphics (Advanced) - Post-Processing Effects. If they're too strong, you're too weak.

Possible locations are the small pink triangles on the map.

Rewards:
900 reputation points (Inn League), -500 reputation points (Ale Association)
1 Token of Taste
