The Anniversary Celebration

The Scavenger Hunt Guide will be added in time for the next festival. Until then, see the German version.

The Anniversary Celebration 2026 is taking place from April 23, 10 a. m. to May 19 (extended), 3 a. m. Eastern Time.

Some general tips for the festival events:

• Every day from 9 a.m., first go to the Party Tree in Hobbiton and pick up the wrapper quests from Waldo Rumble. This way, most of your activities will count toward the wrappers, that yield some nice rewards.
• If you want to collect a lot of festival tokens very quickly, your best bet is to get into a brawl in the back room of the inn in Thorin’s Hall.

Wrappers

The Anniversary Celebration Has Arrived! (auto-bestowed)

This quest puts a travelling map to the Bree Festival Grounds into your inventory. You can accept quests there and at the Boar Fountain in Bree, but first go visit Waldo Rumble at the Party Tree in Hobbiton. He will give you wrapper quests that yield extra rewards.

Rewards: 1 Anniversary Token. Anniversary Giftbox with 8 fireworks, Map to Bree

Another Lovely Year (Waldo Rumble)

Participate in 7 Anniversary events.
Waldo Rumble is at the Party Tree.

This is a daily quest.
Reward: 3 Anniversary Tokens

A Yearly Yield (Waldo Rumble)

Complete "Another Lovely Year" three times at every level.

• Intro: Complete “Another Lovely Year” 3 times.
  Rewards: 400 Figments of Splendour, 1 Scrap of an Essence Reclamation Scroll, 1 Universal Optional Crafting Ingredient.
• Intermediate: Complete “Another Lovely Year” 3 more times.

The Anniversary Adventure (Waldo Rumble)

The Figments of Splendour go into your purse. They are available account-wide and can be bartered at the Curator and Filbert Fig in Bree, Galtrev, the 21st Hall and Skarháld (Ered Mithrin) for cosmetics, pets, and mounts.

Non-repeatable Quests

The Anniversary Event (A Young Brandybuck)

This quest chain takes you to various helpers at the festival grounds:

• Winston Peartree at the fireworks area in Bree
• Sally Threshing at the Bree race-track at the Bree festival ground (take the festival horse near the West-Bree stable-master)
• Milo Brockhouse at the Methel-stage in the Shire
• Carl Proudfoot at the Shire race-track, southeast of Michel Delving
• Gísli Strongclub in the beer-fight arena at the back of the inn of Thorin’s Hall (use the side-door next to the door of Thorin’s Hall)
• Angeline Greenpasture, the Keeper of Gifts in Bree in the small festival area east of the Boar Fountain. (Note: The main reward barterer is Frithbert the dwarf, a little north of Angeline.)

The whole quest-chain counts as one quest toward “Another Lovely Year".
Rewards: 2 Anniversary Tokens
This quest can be completed only once during the festival.

A Special Celebration - Year Ninteteen (Waldo Rumble)

Waldo challenges you to complete four festival missions:

• Evil in the Ruins
• The Orcs of Nan Wathren
• The Fortress of Olnathron
• Orc-thieves

Only when you have completed the missions will the second part of the quest appear: Participate in 10 anniversary events. You are probably in no hurry to complete the quest, but if you are, do the missions first, before completing any other Anniversary quests. This way, your seven dailes for “Another Lovely Year” will count toward the 10 quests, too.

The missions count toward “Another Lovely Year”.
Reward for the 10 Anniversary Festival activities: , 9 Anniversary Seals (I have no idea what these are for)
Rewards for the quest: Tome of the Sunstone Drakeling, 1000 Virtue XP, 2000 more Virtue XP
This quest can be completed only once during the festival.

Fireworks Exploration (Gandalf)

Gandalf, of course, can be found at the Methel-stage south of Bywater, near the fireworks! He tells you to launch specific colourful fireworks in six different places. You can buy the fireworks from the vendor right next to him or other festival vendors.

• Blue: at the fireworks area in Bree
• Red: at Frerin’s Court near Thorin’s Hall
• Green: in front of the Last Homely House in Rivendell
• Yellow: at the Party Tree in Hobbiton
• Orange: at the peak of Weathertop in the Lonelands
• Purple: in front of Tom Bombadil’s house in the Old Forest.

Rewards: 1 Anniversary Token, Title "Firecracker"
The quest can only be advanced during the festival.
It can be completed only once in the “lifetime” of a character. If you have the title, you’ve already done it, and it’s no longer available..

Repeatable Quests

Fireworks in Bree (Winston Peartree)

As soon as you accept the quest, a small toolbar will appear on your screen. It may be hidden behind or among other UI elements. Find it, then left-click and drag it to a convenient spot. Then each time the Fireworks Announcer shouts out instructions, click the colours accordingly.

• Take your time. The quest only fails if you launch a wrong colour, not when you do nothing.
• If you fail, you can immediately accept the quest again from Winston Peartree.
• If you are quick, you can launch two fireworks at every second announcement.
• The quest officially starts in the evening at Gloaming but is available 5 minutes before (when the world announcement is made). During these 5 minutes, the Announcer doesn’t speak yet, but one of the colours will already be “correct”. Try them out or launch the colour the other players are launching. This way, you can complete the quest before it even begins and without having to wait for the announcements.
  Take care though: Cancel any launch the moment the fireworks start officially and wait for the announcement!

Rewards: 1 Anniversary Token
The quest can be repeated every 30 minutes during the night and counts towards "Another Lovely Year” every time.

Sparking an Interest (A Young Tuk)

The Young Tuk is at the Bree fireworks area.
The quest can only be accepted at in-game daytime, but it can be completed at any time of day..

There are 7 firework areas along the main street of Bree, and each area has a number of spots where fireworks can be launched. You can use each area only once. The map will indicate unused areas.

In the bad old days, all spots of an area used to disappear for some time when a firework was launched. This is no longer so; used spots respawn almost instantly, and all other spots remain intact.

Here are the spots (click to enlarge):

Counts towards “Another Lovely Year” every time.
Reward: 2 Anniversary Tokens

Lost Invitations (Percy Bywood)

Percy Bywood stands east of the Boar Fountain in Bree. Collect some the envelopes that are flying about until you find 6 invitations.

• The envelopes are technically NPCs. Search the options for “Select Next NPC” and “Use Selection” and bind these commands to keys that you can reach easily. This comes in handy for all kinds of quests, really! Use “Select Next Item” instead of “Select Next NPC” if applicable.
• Select flying envelopes while they are coming in your direction so they remain in range. You don’t need to look at them.
• Some envelopes contain special rewards like emotes and war-steed cosmetics. If you are after these, collect a larger number of envelopes before opening them, since you can’t collect envelopes anymore once you have found 6 invitations.
• Hypatia recommends: There is an envelope tacked to the archers’ target in the prison yard, which respawns every 12 second. Thanks for this great hint!

Daily quest.
Counts towards “Another Lovely Year”.
Rewards: 2 Anniversary Tokens

Anniversary Gifts (various quest-givers)

The quest-chain can be started at any one of the questgivers. The order always remains the same.
Completing a step in the quest-chain yields the Lifted Spirit effect (+10% OOC Run Speed).

1. Roger Hazeltwig near the Boar Fountain in Bree sends you to Gail Catchpole in Combe.
2. Gail Catchpole in Combe sends you to Constable Underhill, right across the road.
3. Constable Underhill in Combe sends you to Esmerelda Burrows in Michael Delving. (There is a swift ride available from the Combe stable-master.) Esmerelda is inside the "Bird and Baby".
4. Esmerelda Burrows inside the “Bird and Baby” at Michel Delving sends you to Dudo Chubb in Hobbiton (not Bywater!), near the post-office.
5. Dudo Chubb in Hobbiton sends you to Ormr in Frerin’s Court near Thorin’s Hall. (Take the swift horse to Michel Delving, then to Thorin’s Hall.)
6. Ormr in Frerin’s Court sends you to Rúnulf, the inn-keeper at Thorin’s Hall. Use the side door next to the door of Thorin’s Hall to enter the arena, then turn around and use the middle door to enter the inn.
7. Rúnulf, the inn-keeper of Thorin’s Hall, sends you to Roger Hazeltwig near the Boar Fountain in Bree.

Each step counts towards “Another Lovely Year”, which is great if you need to fill up your dailies real quick!
It only resets twice a week though (on Mondays and Thursdays), so plan wisely - but go all in on Sundays and Wednesdays!
Rewards: 2 Anniversary Tokens per gift delivered.

Fireworks in the Shire (Milo Brockhouse)

Milo Brockhouse is at the Methel-stage south of Bywater. You have three minutes to launch as many fireworks as you can!

• You need at least three people to complete this quest, and three may not even suffice. Four is possible.
• There can be considerable lag when the fireworks start. If this happens to you, tune your graphics down; in particular, disable “Post-processing effects”.
• Stand apart from each other; with few participants, everyone should have their own area lest you lose launches by competition over the same spot.
• The fireworks have a cooldown, so stick to the same launch order.

Repeatable every 10 minutes
Every round counts towards “Another Lovely Year”.
Reward: 1 Anniversary Token

The Mightiest Blow (Gísli Strongclub)

In the backroom of the inn of Thorin’s Hall is the arena of the glorious beer competiition. Gísli will hand you a Dwarf-club of Unimaginable Power to hit your competitors. The club can’t be equipped; it’s an ability that you can drag from your inventory to a convenient quickslot on your toolbar.

During the contest, target an adversary and use the ability. A hit will send them flying wayyyy back. Alas, the club cannot be used outside the contest.

You need at least one other player to complete this quest.

Shortcut: The backdoor to the left of the door of Thorin’s Hall takes you directly to the arena.

The competition has three levels:

• Basic: Hit adversaries 8 times with the club. There are no consequences if you get hurled out of the arena.
  Reward: 1 Anniversary Token
• Intermediate: Hit adversaries 8 times with the club. Don’t leave the arena.
  Reward: 2 Anniversary Tokens
• Expert: Hit adversaries 8 times with the club. Don’t leave the arena. Also, collect the glorious beer. The glorious beer will appear during the fight on one of the tables and can only be collected once per fight, by one player.
  Reward: 3 Anniversary Tokens, Effekt "Glorious Beer Hero" (2,5 min.), which gives you a glorious glow. The Glorious Beer-mug is no longer a reward for this quest as in olden times; it can now be bartered for 10 Anniversary Tokens from the Games-master.

Deeds:
“The Mightiest Arm”: swing your club at opponents 200 times; title: “Clubber”
“Why Your Head Hurts”: complete the quest on Expert level 25 times; title “Battered, Bruised, and Contused”

Repeatable: every ~10 minutes.
Every round counts towards “Another Lovely Year”.

Anniversary Missions (A “Hooded Stranger” in the Prancing Pony)

The Hooded Stranger, whoever he may be, offers you 10 missions to choose from. Accept as many as you like.
Like all missions, they scale with your character’s level and can be played as Delvings at maximum level.

Every mission counts separately toward “Another Lovely Year” as well as toward the mission wrapper quests (15/45 missions).
Repeatable: every 18 hours.
Rewards: 2 Anniversary Tokens per mission

The mission texts tell you to go to a certain place and complete a certain task there. The places are even indicated on your map. Don’t go there in the landscape! Instead, talk to the Hooded Stranger again to be sent off.

Mission: Evil in the Ruins

The Eglain ask for your help: Rescue 8 Valuable Collectibles from War-singers in Nan Dhelu in the Lonelands, then defeat the Master of Nan Dhelu.

There are just enough War-singers to collect the Valuables, and the first one is in an area immediately to the right of the entrance. Go there first so you don’t have to backtrack later.
The Valuables need to be picked up (no auto-loot). They are marked with the golden mission ring-and-scroll symbol and are usually well visible. Sometimes, though, a Valuable is hidden underground, so look out for that. I use “Select Next Object” and “Use Selection” after every fight to be on the safe side.

Mission: The Orcs of Nan Wathren

Gildor Inglorion wants you to weaken the orcs’ attacks on Lin Giliath by killing the dreadful warg Gloomfang and the Tarkrîp Pack-master, and finally their master Drukordh.

Gloomfang and the Pack-master can appear in different places. I have found them wandering between camp areas 2 and 3, all along area 3, by the barricaded gate in the northeast, and in Drukordh’s camp.
Destroy five evil altars as you go, then defeat Drukordh.

Mission: Thornley’s Revenge

Robb Thornley was freed, but that’s not enough. He wants revenge!

Exert vengeance on 8 orcs, then another 8 orcs, then the Red Reaver, who will appear at the cave entrance on the lower level.

Mission: A Gift for the North

Olwir of the Dourhands has a special gift for his undead king Skorgrim. Take care of it.

To be admitted to the camp, approach the gate, /challenge the dwarves as they appear, then /slap the Dourhand Tracker. Make sure to target him.
Then fight your way through the camp and defeat Olwir and his “gift”.

Mission: A Rare Vintage



Goblins have overrun Limael’s Vineyard. Persuade them to return the bottles they stole, pick some grapes, and have an earnest talk with their leader, Pampraush.

Pampraush will appear on the western terrace after you have done all the collecting.

The goblins count toward the racial deed “Enmity of the Goblins”.

Mission: Lalia’s Safe Passage

Lalia believes all the pretty fairy-tales! She especially likes the one about an enchanted prince living in the Barrow-downs that Barleyman Butterbur tells to entertain his guests. Now she’s gone missing - it’s probably best to go and look for her.

Lalia has been doing some exercise, so if you struggle with too many skeletons, let her tank - she can take a beating.

Mission: The Fortress of Olnathron

The evil spirit Olnathron still haunts the ruins of Tham Lorn in the North Downs. Will you ever put a stop to her ugly game? Disable six Burning Idols, then defeat her.

Upon entering the ruins, first turn left and destroy the idol there. Then take the path to the right of the entrance. To proceed farther into the ruins, you can climb up in the far left corner here.
Olnathron is on the upper level, protected by a wall of green billowing fog that disappears when you destroy the last idol. Approach her to arouse her interest.

Mission: Orc-thieves

Orcs have stolen Candaith’s bow. Tell them he wants it back, and while you are there, collect Battered Lockboxes and defeat War-master Uzorr.

From the entrance, follow the stream to the left, since there is a lockbox you need to collect. (There are just enough lockboxes for the task.) Then proceed uphill.
After collecting all the boxes and the bow (it will drop from a White Hand Archer), defeat Uzorr in his camp at the top level. You will fight him alongside a second orc that spawns when you collect the last lockbox. If you prefer to fight Uzorr alone, leave out the first lootbox on the top level, collect the one in Uzorr’s camp, defeat the second orc, run back to collect the left-out lootbox, then run back to defeat Uzorr. No, seriously, just defeat them together.

Mission: Rescue by Moonlight

In the Ered Luin, an Elven prince has gone missing, and the Elves suspect the Longbeard dwarves. But of course, the Dourhands dit it! To avert war between the Elves and the Dwarves, go into Kheledûl to free Prince Avorthal.

When you have spoken with Avorthal, the Dourhand commander Volund appears from the door behind him, and a little later four helpers arrive from the opposite side. If you struggle, don’t worry, Avorthal is more or less invincible. Let him tank while you take care of the dwarves one by one.

The Spire of Kheledûl and the Kheledûl Docks for the deed “Scouting the Dourhands” can be discovered during this mission.

Mission: Spiders in the Quarry

The hobbits of Scary delved too greedily and too deep! A terrible evil has been set free: spiders! You know already who is expected to take care of them.

Kill 6 spiders of each type, then approach the cave entrance, where the Greenfields Queen will appear with two weakly accomplices.

Seasonal Instance

A Flurry of Fireworks (Instance Finder)

In the Instance Finder, this instance is categorised under “Seasonal”. There are versions for 1/2, 3, and 6 fellows.
It’s scalable; just note that you can earn the title only if you play at your own level. It’s easy, so it should be no problem.

Instance: Gandalf asks you to transport some boxes with fireworks to the small ruin above the Prancing Pony. Along the way, you will encounter three old acquaintances who will recall the battles you fought together. Oh no, the memories come to life and you must fight them again!
At the final stop, your companion will light a firework early. Hurry to extinguish the Lit Fuses before everything blows up. One firework at least must “survive”. The Lit Fuses can be aggroed; even a little damage suffices. Use AoE damage if more than one threatens to escape.
Now you can activate the final banner and hand in the quest to Gandalf, who is waiting down the path.

The three companions are selected at random from the following eight NPCs:

• 1st stop: Anurandir and Lagorlam,
• 2nd stop: Flík, Machan and Pengail,
• 3rd stop: Gwin Curhonon, Robb Thornley, and Lalia.

The optional side-quest “Sparkling Sparklers” has you give Sparklers to 12 children from Bree. 10 children are in the starting area, two more a little farther up the path by a cottage. You can complete this quest even before accepting the main quest.
If you play in a fellowship, every member must complete the side-quest on their own.

Tip: You can play the instance once a day in all three fellowship sizes to acquire more Festive Coins, even at level 10. Take care though: You can't own more than 40 Festive Coins per character.

The Sparklers quest (not the instance!) counts toward “Another Lovely Year”.

Rewards:
6 Anniversary Tokens for the childrens’ side-quest; 5 Festival Tokens and an Enhancement Rune or Tracery from Gandalf’s chest for the instance.
5 more Anniversary Tokens, if you master the challenge “Short Fuse” on size 3 or 6 at maximum level: Don’t let any of the fireworks launch early!
Title: Helping Hand, if you have escorted all eight companions at your own level.

In the Rewards section below, the rewards for Festival Tokens are listed under the entry of the year they were added, since they often match that year’s regular cosmetics.

Festival Horse Races

Various festival guests send you to the Shire Race-track (near the Shire Homesteads) and the Bree Festival Grounds (south of Hengstacer Farm);

• at the Party Tree at Hobbiton: Baldo Mudfoot by the dancing stage
• in Duíllont: Gelirdúr
• in Thorins Halle: Annar

They all stand close to the dancing area. You don't need the vector quests to do the race quests, though - you can just as well go to the race-tracks directly.

Accept the race quest from Carl Proudfoot in the Shire or Sally Threshing at the Festival Grounds in Bree. Mount a convenient race steed, and off you go! Your task is to finish the race before the time runs out.

Some tips:

• While successfully crossing a water obstacle gives you a speed buff, falling from the racks gives you a debuff. Aspire to make at least one of the water obstacles without tripping. If you can't do it (for lag or other reasons), jump directly into the water, jumping as far as you can. You may still beat the race.
• If there is lag, tune down the graphics. It can help a lot.
• Don't jump too late. It's better to jump a bit early; the distance is not long. Then immediately jump again to the next part of the obstacle.
• In LotRO, you can move in the air! If you foresee that you will miss a rack, adjust your trajectory during the jump.
• The first gate is also the last gate! Make sure you pass it again at the end of the race.
• I find the racetrack in Bree-land to be a tad easier than the Shire one.
• If you fail the quest, you can accept it again after 5 minutes.

A successful race counts towards "Another Lovely Year" (thanks to Ionah for this tipp)!

Rewards

Die FestRewardsen gibt es bei den Spielleitern in Bree, Celondim, Michelbinge und Thorins Halle (Große Halle und Bier-Arena). Der einzige Reittierhändler ist aber Henry Birnbaum in Bree.

Einrichtungsgegenstände sind hier nicht aufgeführt; ihr könnt sie wie immer bei D&Co du Milieu bewundern!

Kosten:

• Jedes Zierwerkteil: 10 Anniversary Tokens
• Zierwerkbegleiter: 20 Anniversary Tokens oder 30 Mithrilmünzen
• Reittier: 40 Anniversary Tokens oder 70 Mithrilmünzen (Reittiere vor 2018 nur noch für Mithril). Für Kriegsrösser gibt es passende Sets zu unterschiedlichen Preisen (pro Setteil 15-40 Anniversary Tokens oder 70 Mithrilmünzen).

Reittiere gibt es immer nur einige Jahre lang für Anniversary Tokens, danach wird es teuer! Kauft sie, solange sie noch für Anniversary Tokens zu haben sind.

Rewardsen 2025

Das Gewand des Bäckervergnügens, bestehend aus Waffenrock mit Hose, Schuhen und Hut, ist todschick, aber es sollte besser keine Erdbeerkuchenfüllung draufkommen.
Es ist schon klar, dass die Rewardsen diesmal aus der Elben-Designschmiede kommen. Aber letztendlich, was verstehen die schon vom Backen? Seht sie euch an, die Hungerhaken!

Also gut, hier sind auch die Schuhe:

Der Elch des Bäckervergnügens macht den Look komplett.

Vor diesem Bärenjungen des Bäckervergnügens sollten Beorninger-Köche sich in Acht nehmen, dass es ihnen nicht den Honig wegfrisst!
Der kleine Bär ist ziemlich groß. Hobbits sehen neben ihm etwas übersichtlicher aus als eh schon ... Wir sind aber nicht klein! Wir sind nur etwas weiter unten.

Es gibt außerdem einen ganzen Schwung von Zierwerk-Waffen, die mir aber alle ziemlich bekannt vorkommen. Ich schaue sie mir bei Gelegenheit genauer an, dann folgen vielleicht noch Bilder.

Rewardsen 2024

Beeindruckt alle anderen Hobbits mit dem Outfit des Grünen Drachens: Waffenrock + Hose und Hut. Tragt ihr dieses Outfit, sind alle Schuhe unsichtbar. Ha!

Das Ross des Grünen Drachens bringt euch nach den Festlichkeiten sicher nach Hause, auch wenn ihr selbst nicht mehr laufen könnt.

Der Humpen des Gasthauses zum Grünen Drachen hält auch der strengsten Begutachtung stand! Ein Schnäppchen für 15 Festmünzen.

Der Sienafarbene Hamster gehört euch für 20 Anniversary Tokens oder 30 Mithrilmünzen, der Fröhliche Hamster für 20 Festmünzen. Mit Feuerwerk! (Leider nicht aktivierbar.)

Rewardsen 2023

Das Gewand der Erleuchtung hat einen exotischen Touch. Alle Teile sind einfärbbar, an den Stiefeln allerdings nur die Riemen.

Dazu passt die Mit Feuerwerk beladene Ziege:

Der diesjährige Begleiter ist eine kleine Jubiläumsfestziege:

Den Geschmiedeten Rammenspazierstab bzw. den Geschmiedeten Rammenstab des Kundigen bekommt ihr für 20 Festmünzen. Er kommt besonders gut zur Geltung, wenn ihr das Emote “bewegung_wunderlich” aus der Truhe des Wunderlichen Gastes habt. Wenn ihr in diesem Bewegungsmodus schreitet (statt zu laufen), haltet ihr den Stab wie Gandalf, sogar, wenn ihr stehenbleibt! (Das klappt mit allen Stäben.)

Rewardsen 2022

Die Rüstung der Kristall-Standhaftigkeit ist sichtlich zwergischen Ursprungs. Jedes Teil kostet 10 Anniversary Tokens; alles kann eingefärbt werden.

Das Ross der Kristall-Standhaftigkeit ist wieder passend zum Outfit geschmückt.

Der Goldene Kristallkäfer (20 Anniversary Tokens) beeindruckt durch seine Größe. Bei Zwergen muss eben alles ordentliche Dimensionen haben.

Den Dreifarbigen Corgi gibt es für 30 Festmünzen:

Und last but not least gibt es die schöne Blaue Jubiläumswunderkerze für 20 Festmünzen. Sie kann in Haupt- oder Nebenhand angelegt werden. Wenn ihr euch bewegt, zieht sie eine Lichtspur!

Die Funktionalität ist etwas tricky. Die Wunderkerze kann an sich direkt als Rüstung getragen werden, aber sie erscheint dann nur, wenn man sie direkt vorher als Zierwerk für eine getragene Waffe verwendet hatte. Es ist daher besser, wenn ihr die Wunderkerze tatsächlich als Zierwerk verwendet, das eine in Haupt- oder Nebenhand angelegte Waffe überschreibt.
Bei manchen Chars sind die Funken nicht sichtbar. Ähnliche Probleme kommen auch sonst bei Feuer-Effekten vor. Stellt sicher, dass ihr in den erweiterten Graphik-Einstellungen “Statische Umgebungsobjekte” aktiviert habt. (Andere Spieler empfehlen auch, “Atmosphärische Details” hochzudrehen und "Partikel-Rendering" auf "Alles" oder “Mich und Ziele” zu stellen - bei mir haben diese beiden Einstellungen keinen Effekt auf die Wunderkerze.) Loggt aus und wieder ein, damit die Änderungen greifen.
